# 2048 Cupcakes

> A free, browser-based version of the 2048 puzzle where you merge cupcake tiles to reach the 2048 cupcake. Features Classic and New treat skins, undo, dark mode, a global leaderboard, and a shareable score card.

2048 Cupcakes is an independent, cupcake-themed take on Gabriele Cirulli's original 2048 (MIT licensed). It runs instantly in the browser with no accounts or installs; your progress is saved locally on your device. Built with Astro, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.

## How to play
- Slide the board with the arrow keys, WASD, or a swipe; every cupcake moves in that direction.
- When two cupcakes of the same value touch, they merge into the next cupcake up.
- Reach the 2048 cupcake (the Birthday Cake) to win, then keep going in endless mode for a higher score.
- Strategy: keep your biggest cupcake pinned in one corner and build a descending chain of cupcakes beside it.
- Shortcuts: Z to undo, N for a new game.
